We went to hungry hunter for happy hour last night, and we were very pleased with the variety of options! You can very easily have a full meal by ordering starters only. There's a burger and tacos on the happy hour menu as well as classic apps like onion rings and calamari. Our server was phenomenal. She checked on us often, and asked if we wanted her to put in another round of drinks a couple minutes before happy hour ended. Happy hour is in the bar only - no problem. The bar had ample and comfortable seating. My only critiques would be that our onion rings were a bit soggy, and my salad had way too much dressing (next time I'll just ask for dressing on the side). I will definitely be back!!
Hello Yelpies !!! When in Bakersfield this is a must have location for great food and top notch customer service. They don't rush you for an order and the drinks are awesome. They kept my drink topped off and the cheesecake was delicious. Big props to the management and staff. Very rare to have such a fine tuned team in the food industry. Keep up the amazing work ( oh great job chef )
Rib eye, baked potato and seasonal veggies delicious! It was better than Outback Steakhouse. The only complaint would be the cocktails. I ordered a mojito, but before I did, I asked if it was not good could I return it. Server said said yes. Mojito was not good at all, so I ordered cadellaic margarita, and it too was horrible. Overall the meal was great. Service was good; however, I am disappointed that the server didn't mention anything about my glassful margarita that was still full at the end of the meal. I should have spoken up, but I didn't because I'd already complained about the mojito. Don't order those cocktails. Ambiance was ok. Arrived at a good time in that there wasn't a wait time. It was a walk in dining experience.
Food was good in service was above average. I had the 20 oz porterhouse steak with a baked potato and sweet potato fries. The salad is constructed table side by the waiter. It tasted good in the blue cheese salad dressing tasted homemade. The server could not have been nicer or more friendly, and he always kept my drink glass full. Obviously he's been instructed to try to upsell everything, but that's not his fault. Restaurant is a 32nd walk from the Fairfield inn hotel where I'm staying. All in all a decent dining experience. Dining room is clean and comfortable.
Pretty good steak find in the city of Bakersfield. Service was great and food was good. Ribeye was cooked perfect and seasoned well.
Again Hungry Hunter hit it out of the park for their Rombauer food & wine pairing. Originally it was scheduled for Tuesday but that sold out so they scheduled a second event on Wednesday as well! I don't know who prepares or how the menu is created for each pairing event, but I have to find out. The pairing of recipes to the wine is always outstanding. The presentation is attractive and the food is delicious. The events are held in their banquet room. The kitchen staff and the wait staff do an excellent job serving these large groups. The Winery Hosts are always informative and fun! The price is an affordable cost (it includes gratuity) for an event of this caliber. If you haven't been to one of their events, go to their FB page to see their offerings. Their next event is a Tequila tasting dinner featuring Patron El Alto May 23, 2024. NY Strip steak, baked potato, corn on cob and salad made at table. I requested medium/pink in middle of my steak...half of it seemed right on target, the rest not. My suggestion about corn on cob...as I asked is this beyond the season... water soaked cob, better to cut the kernels off the cob and serve it that way when not corn cob can be fresh. Norwegian salmon, rice pilaf, and red-skinned potatoes ... all delicious. We enjoy having the salads made at the table so can choose toppings. Couple of 805 beers...remember next time about happy hour as we missed it by 10 minutes. Good service. No room for the desserts which were shown and all were huge! We ate in bar area to enjoy television shows.
